About EUDIGVAL

OBJECTIVES

The general objective of the project is to strengthen the potential of the Republic of Serbia to meet its obligations in the process of European integration by promoting excellence in teaching and research in regard to respecting EU values in specific areas of digital transformation. It explores challenges brought by the process of digitalization in relation to human rights (digital human rights), rule of law, democracy, digital sovereignty, data protection, as well as impact of artificial intelligence on human rights and algorithmic governance.

EUDIGVAL is created with the aim to improve and increase the quality and quantity of the teaching in European Union studies, boost existing knowledge and provide better dissemination of the knowledge on EU values in digital transformation to the students, graduate professionals and academics, decision makers, journalists, legal professionals, employees in state and provincial institutions, media and civil society, as well as to foster dialogue between them.

The added value of EUDIGVAL is that it contributes to better understanding of respecting EU values in the process of digital transformation and their application and harmonization of Serbian legal system with EU law in the framework of the current process of accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, mostly related to Chapters 10 (Digital transformation and media), 23 (Judiciary and fundamental rights) and 31 (Foreign, security and defense policy). As Digital Agenda is on the top of the EU priorities, the project contributes to Serbia's negotiation process with the EU by raising awareness and improving the quality of knowledge on the Digital Decade 2030, whose rights and principles reflect EU values, which have to be respected in the digital world.
